Refactor - Rename could be made more prominent

Renaming variables is the type of refactoring I do a lot, so it would be nice if it wasn't hidden away in a sub-menu.

Do you still want to keep this JEDI open?

Blake - thanks for the reminder. I had started using that alternate shortcut for rename and then for reasons unknown got back in the habit of Ctrl+F2,R.

Shift+F2 is a keyboard shortcut that takes you straight to the RefactorRename box

Thanks everyone

Or better yet the Rename Refactor command can be individually bound to a hot key of your choosing (see preferences, key bindings). e.g I bind the rename command to Ctrl - Enter, and the Refactor menu to Alt - Enter. Much faster then using the either the mouse or default hot keys.

I just use "alt e-e-r" ... takes a bit to get used to but once you do it a bit it becomes second nature

If you use the Ctrl+F2 keyboard shortcut you get a popup menu containing just the refactor commands. I always use this rather than the right-click context menu. The full keyboard sequence for renaming then becomes Ctrl+F2 followed by the letter 'r'. Hope that helps.

Closing this as there is an existing shortcut.
