There are three verbs used in the IDE when you go to the menu View->Layout. Two of the verbs used are 'apply' and 'save'.
Apply is an ambiguous verb which could cover saving. The first few times I went to change my layouts I would reset my layout by mistake as I thought 'Apply' would apply/save my layout changes.
As I'm used to this now I'm not too worried about this changing, but for people using this feature in future it would be helpful. It could ultimately save computer equipment because it is already quite fidgety to change a layout.
