The JADE 2022 release meets tomorrow’s business demands.
While I've had notifications about comments on ideas I've previously subscribed to, I'm not getting any notifications about new ideas that someone else has raised.
Without this, it relies on individuals regularly checking JEDI for anything they're interested in, whereas it'd be a lot easier if we received email notifications with details of the idea to prompt us to vote/comment if it's something we're interested in.
Hi Kevin, to answer your question about how it's going... slower than I would like, but we ARE making progress. These things are happening:
It's all just going through the design and distribution machine now, and sorting the ideas into the right categories, as well as reviewing all the new JEDIs, has taken a bit of time. Almost there! Thanks for staying on top of this.
How's this going?
We'd have thought Hugh's recent idea about concurrency improvements would've had a lot more votes/interest based on the feedback at the TOI & the problems it'll address, but it's only had three votes so far ...
Hi Kevin, still working on this -- we should be able to get the mail out soon. But in the meantime, for people who are watching, these are the newest ideas from the last 2 weeks:
Hi Ashley, it'd be much more beneficial if you could send the summary to everyone who's registered on JEDI (or use the JADE newsletter mailing list if that's not available). As I'm in the habit of checking JEDI, providing the list via the comments just for me isn't of much benefit. The goal is to reach those who don't regularly check, or would just prefer to get a weekly summary they can digest without having to remember to visit/check the site regularly (I've many work colleagues who won't be). When people are signing up, they're effectively saying they want to know about the ideas, so I don't think we should have to also have to self-subscribe to anything extra beyond that in order to get a notification or weekly summary when new ideas are raised. If anything, it'd be something we could opt-out of, or choose how/when we get an automated summary, rather than everyone having to know they need to opt-in.
Hey Kevin, I get your point, completely. It would be ideal if Aha supported subscriptions like this (such as "portal news") because customers could self-subscribe. Will keep thinking about a good way to to do -- for now, these are the most recent ideas and since I am commenting on this idea, you'll be notified automatically.
Hi Ashley, how about a weekly email summarising the new ideas each week (and perhaps those from the prior week)? This'll probably be easier for others to digest as there won't be as many to review/catch-up on, and encourage people to comment/contribute to the discussion around new ideas sooner. Keeping a mention in the quarterly JADE newsletter is great, but I don't think you'd want this to become the primary focus of all newsletters.
Hi Kevin, I did some checking on the capabilities of Aha! to do this. It is not currently possible for portal users who are not admins to get notifications when a new idea is added or to get notifications triggered by general status or category. So, as you say, the best way to see new ideas is to log in regularly, sort by "recent," and comment or vote from there. There is a request on Aha!'s own ideas portal to make this possible and I have up-voted it. In the meantime, I am thinking we can include a JEDI summary in our quarterly newsletters as a reminder for people to vote on and review recently submitted ideas.
