The JADE 2022 release meets tomorrow’s business demands.
It'd be good if we could re-open ideas that have been previously closed.
Rather than rewriting an idea from scratch, being able to re-open the original idea will provide more background/history of what's been discussed so far in one place.
Thanks Ashley :)
Hi Kevin, we haven't done a full team review of ideas since we migrated to the new JEDI platform, so we would not have had the chance to review and change the status on this one yet. So the lack of re-opening isn't the reason you haven't see activity on it. But you're right, we did miss the step to change the status based on your initial comment; I just changed it to a "needs review" status. In the future if you see this issue again, let me know via comments and we can consider changing the workflow but for now let's stick with the approach were you comment and we re-open. It should work, but if proves to be an issue we'll adjust.
I commented on an idea I'd like to see re-opened a month ago. There's been no response, nor has it been changed to 'needs review' so it'd be more visible again for others to join in the conversation and add their vote. Perhaps we should resubmit things as new ideas so they're visible?
I have confirmed that only admins can re-open ideas. So, if there is one that you want us to consider re-opening, you can find and comment on it and we'll get a notification. Then we can review it to see if we'll re-open.
We can also merge ideas so if you want to create a new idea, tell us if it has a related idea that has been closed and we can merge them.
Thanks, Kevin. I've asked if it's possible to enable this via the portal and will let you know if we can accommodate the request. Even if you do not have a way to re-open an idea, we at Jade do have the option via the admin portal. So, one thing you can always do is comment on the idea that is closed and then we can review the comment and determine whether we are willing to re-open and re-consider it. We get notified about all comments on ideas so it'll land in our review process if you do that.
